안녕하세요 마공다입니다. 오늘은 원급 비교인 as-as비교에 대해서 간략히 정리했습니다.
비교급비교(-er than/more-than/less-than), 최상급비교는(the-est등)은 다음 포스팅에서 이어서 비교할게요!
as –as 비교
포인트 1. as-as~는 원급비교 해석: ~만큼 -한
>as,as 사이에는 형용사와 부사만 가능 > 이 때,형용사와 부사의 구별 방법? 동사를 본다!
ex)She treats the student as (kind/kindly) as Tom. 여기서 treats>3형식동사로 완벽한문장이 되었으므로 부사가 온다 >kindly
>만약 as 와 as 사이 명사를 쓰려면 as 형 a 명 as 어순을 지킨다. ex)He is as wise a father as Tom.
2.부정> 첫째 as앞에 not을 붙인다. ~만큼 -한 것은 아니다.(so~as는 부정문에서만 사용>not/no/never so형/부 as)
ex)His commute is not as short as mine is.(as~as는 부정문에서도 가능)
3.as-as는 비교급이므로 사이에 비교급과 쓰지 않을 것
as better as(x)
4.~만큼 많은/~만큼 적은 (셀 수 있는 명사 고려)
as many/much as
as few/little as
5.배수/퍼센트/분수 표현
배수사(퍼센트/분수)+as+형/부+as
ex) The first room is three times as big as the third room.
exo-(어근의뜻: 바깥의,밖 outer, out)로 시작하는 단어
exit :출구, 퇴장, 나가다,종료하다
exotic: 외래의,이국적인 (유의어:unfamiliar, extraordinary, unusual)
exonerate:면제하다, 해방하다 (관련 숙어:let off the hook, set free)
inexorable: 냉혹한,거침없는,바꿀 수 없는 in(not)+ex(out)+or(say)+able 밖으로 말하지 않는다,는 느낌으로 냉혹한(relentless)이라고 연관지어 암기하세요!
유의어: harsh, implacable, stubborn, merciless
exortica:이국적인 것
exorbitant: 터무니없는, 과도한 extravagant,outrageous<->cheap,moderate,warranted

1.make ends meet: 겨우 먹고 살 만큼 벌다
2.인색한,아끼는:a.parsimonious, miserly, niggardly, penny-pinching

im(없는)+pecu(돈) , penny(돈)+less(없는) de(아래로)+stitute(stand서있는)
5.pay through the nose: 엄청난 돈을 쓰다.바가지를 쓰다.
